Staircase Formula
No. of Risers = Floor Height / Riser Height No. of Treads = No. of Risers − 1 Tread Width = Total Run / No. of Treads Comfort Check: 2×Riser + Tread = 600–640mm
The ideal riser height is 150–175mm for residential staircases. The National Building Code of India recommends a maximum riser of 190mm and minimum tread of 250mm for comfortable use.
