Frequently Asked Questions

Reynolds number predicts flow type: laminar (Re<2300, smooth), transitional (2300–4000) or turbulent (Re>4000, chaotic). Most engineering pipe systems operate in turbulent flow.
Recommended: 0.5–1.5 m/s for distribution mains, up to 3 m/s for short connections. Above 3 m/s causes erosion and noise.
